While there were a few things about Christmas this year that made it very unusual I am so very thankful that Christmas never really changes. Christmas is ALWAYS Christmas. No matter how much the world tries to take Christ out of Christmas, and replace it with politically correct nonsense and commercialism, the true meaning of Christmas will always be that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to be born of a virgin; for the sole purpose of Him dying on a cross, to pay the penalty of sin for all who come to Him in childlike faith. And on top of all that, just think about how God chose to do all this - in a very agrarian setting and manner. The social outcasts of the day, shepherds, were the first to receive this most astonishing news. And then the stage on which the Son of God was presented to the world - a livestock feeding trough inside a rustic agrarian shelter. It could not have been any more humble or counter-intuitive. But then again that usually how God seems to do things.
Merry Christmas my friends ! !
